Note: This original hand painted Set Design from “Cleopatra” is rendered in mixed media (pen and wathercolor) on stiff illustration board and attributed to Hollywood Set Designer John De Cuir, who was the Set Designer for the massive and beautiful sets for the epic film. As pictured it is matted in Red with a cut-out window for the Black Studio Label identifying it as “20th Century Fox Production “Cleopatra” Int. – Caesars Villa Rome” written in gold. It depicts a scene in the first half of the film when Marc Antony rides to visit Caesar’s wife Calpurnia in their spectacular Roman Villa with it’s (as rendered) spectacular Corinthian Columns, to break the news to Calpurnia that Caesar has married Cleopatra. She already knows. If you freeze frame the DVD, this exact moment, set design and the two characters are as filmed and seen in the movie.
The art as seen is matted with a plexiglass cover and a heavy thick gold frame that measures 32″ x 43 1/2 total. This is not included in the price.
