“Beauty and the Beast” (1991) Disney Master Key Production Background

"Beauty and the Beast" (1991)  SOLD

In the beautiful opening of "DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST" we follow BELLE through her village's streets, she grabs a ride on the back of a passing wagon to the bookseller's shop, in a sweeping pan shot. This is the magnificient ORIGINAL KEY MASTER PRODUCTION BACKGROUND which was hand painted for the film and went under camera for the shot.

The cel is a portion of the wagon and Belle as the camera moves through the panoramic background right before Belle steps off the wagon to return the books to her friend the bookseller.

Since Disney did not produce any character cels (THE LITTLE MERMAID in 1989 was Disney's last feature film to use the traditional hand-painted cel method of animation for characters) the wagon/Belle cel and the townspeople cels were hand inked and painted from the original animation art especially for this "MATCHING KEY MASTER PRODUCTION BACKGROUND".

Belle's cel image is 7 3/4" and the magnificent pan painting set-up measures a spectacular 33 1/2" X 11 1/2".. The art is also matted and beautifully framed (included in the price of the piece).
